Volunteers

Want to Become a Coach?

Coaches are certified through USA Hockey and run our Try Hockey for Free, Learn 2 Skate, and Learn 2 Play sessions.  They also serve as head or assistant coaches for MYHA's house league, junior varsity, and varsity high school teams.

Basic Steps:  Prior to the start of team practices you must accomplish the steps below.  (To help with Try Hockey for Free, Learn 2 Skate, or Learn 2 Play you only need to complete steps 1-4):

1. Register as a member of USA Hockey as a Player/Coach. CLICK HERE

2. Email your USA Hockey confirmation number to myhahockeydirector@aol.com

3. Complete a national level background screening.  CLICK HERE

4. Complete USA Hockey Safe Sport Training.  CLICK HERE 

5. Complete age-specific module(s) for the age group(s) you are coaching.  CLICK HERE

6. Complete the required Coaching Education Program Certification Clinic.  (Must be done by December 31st 2023).  CLICK HERE

Note:  All coaches are required to wear a Ice Hockey Certified HECC helmet with current certification sticker while on the ice for any MYHA event.

WANT TO BECOME AN ON-ICE VOLUNTEER?

On-Ice volunteers partner with MYHA coaches to assist with; Try Hockey for Free, Learn 2 Skate, and Learn 2 Play.  They help set up and tear down on-ice equipment before and after classes, run drills, and help move players from one station to another.

Basic Steps:  All requirements below must be completed before participating in any MYHA event:

1. Register as a member of USA Hockey as a Player/Coach. CLICK HERE          

2. Email your USA Hockey confirmation number to the MYHA Hockey Director at the address below.

3. Complete a national level background screening.  CLICK HERE

4. Complete USA Hockey Safe Sport Training.  CLICK HERE

WANT TO BECOME AN OFF-ICE VOLUNTEER?

Off-Ice Volunteers assist with; Try Hockey for Free, Learn 2 Skate, and Learn 2 Play helping fit players with equipment, tie skates, etc.  You can also support MYHA's house league; working the penalty box or scoreboard, serving as a team manager, helping with social events (open houses and end of season parties) etc. 

Basic Steps:  All requirements below must be completed before participating in any MYHA event:

1. Register as a  USA Hockey Manager/Volunteer. CLICK HERE
